Hostalytics is a Chrome extension and web dashboard that helps Airbnb hosts track how listing changes (title, description, photos) affect their performance metrics. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Data We Collect
- Airbnb listing data: Listing titles, descriptions, photo metadata, and performance metrics (page views, impressions, conversion rates) from your Airbnb hosting dashboard. This data is only collected for listings you explicitly choose to track.
- Account information: Your email address, used for authentication via magic link sign-in.
- Timezone: Your browser's timezone, used to display dates correctly.
How We Use Your Data
- To detect changes to your Airbnb listings and measure their impact on performance metrics.
- To display experiment results and historical data on your personal dashboard.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely in our database with row-level security policies ensuring you can only access your own data. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission. We do not sell, share, or provide your data to any third parties.
Chrome Extension Permissions
- Tabs: To open Airbnb pages in background tabs for data capture.
- Storage: To store extension settings and captured data locally.
- Alarms: To schedule periodic data capture cycles.
- Host permissions (airbnb.com): To read your listing information and performance metrics from Airbnb.
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
